XAMK FAQ

  • We are following the Texas Childcare Classroom and Daycare Standards for the state.

  • No child will ever be with an adult (or another child) in the restroom alone. We follow Louisiana’s Guardian Class Policy. IE: Teachers will use the “two eyes on the bathroom” rule so that accountability is always in place. For children who need assistance in wiping, the lead teacher must tell the other teacher that they have to enter the stall to help wipe. For diapered children, changing occurs in the classroom with other teachers present.

Please refer to the Parent Questionnaire that was sent to registered SALT emails to provide us with further assistance in helping your child go to the restroom.

  • We do not have a registered nurse in XAMK and, therefore, legally can not administer medicine to your child - even over the counter medicines like Tylenol. If you child needs medicine, please give it before a session, after a session, or come to the 37th floor during the session and text upon arrival to be let into the XAMK area. We can work with you; however, we can not administer medicine.

If your child needs non-medicated assistance, we can assist in that but you must give us permission to do so. Again, please see the Parent Questionnaire that was sent to your registered SALT email.

  • Safety is our main goal! In order for us to know of food and environmental allergies, please see the Parent Questionnaire that was sent to your registered SALT email.

  • Safety is very important. We are in a large hotel in a large city. Anyone can enter any space and the dangers of a child walking around alone is too dangerous. So the short answer is NO. A parent pickup tag will be given to each parent with a child-specific code for pickup.

The exception: if your child is in high school (ages 14-17) they will be allowed to check themselves out of the XAMK but ONLY during the check out times listed for each session. The XAMK will not be allowed to leave mid-session, nor bring any child younger than 14 with them.

Parents with children 14 and older will be sent a consent form that must be signed prior to the 29th, to give permission for the XAMK to be released after each session. If there is no signature, the XAMK will not be released.
