  • How to intentionally make disciples of all nations on your campus and beyond.

Facilitators: Tim and Lesa Petty (U of A)
    Location: Live Oak

  • This women-only breakout is a safe space where we will talk openly, share some laughs, and grow confidently in who God made us to be. Come hear from a panel of women in leadership who will explore topics like: grace-filled purity, body-image pressures, the beauty of friendships among women, the dangers of comparison culture, what it means to step boldly into leadership with purpose and more. Come ready for honest conversations, practical wisdom, and a whole lot of encouragement.

    Facilitator: Mariah Abraham (Langston University)
    Location: Lone Star A4

Standard Workshops

  • Bringing the Gospel to the Marketplace - Whether you're an industrial engineer, a preschool teacher, or an accountant, we're all called to live out the Gospel in our workplaces. This breakout will give you the God perspective on treating work as worship and the practicals on how to live out your faith while serving in the marketplace.

Facilitator: Sophie Haugen (What I Have Initiative)
    Location: State Room 3

  • In this session, we will explore what it means to settle into a call from God. Too often uncertainty mixed with trials outside of our control will cause us to question if we are in God’s will. We must first understand who we are in Christ as we understand God’s greatest hope for this world. Join us as we seek to know, with confidence, that God is using each step we take in life, monumenting His faithfulness to lead and shape us into His likeness.

Facilitators: Jake & Chelle Lefler (South Texas Chi Alpha)
    Location: San Antonio A

  • How can I begin a conversation with a person of another faith such as Islam? What are some Biblical and practical steps in sharing my faith with these persons? In this breakout we will look at Biblical patterns for evangelism and practical steps to break down barriers for speaking with persons of other worldviews. Emphasis will be given to evangelism to Muslims, but principles will apply to all worldviews.

    Facilitators: Mark Brink (Global Initiative)
    Location: State Room 4

  • Our families matter and our relationships with our families matter. How do you honor your family while staying faithful to Jesus? And what does it look like to share Jesus with your family?

Facilitators: Jonathan & Ali Buras (LSU)
    Location: Seminar Theater

  • Could your technology habits be taking a toll on your mental and spiritual health? We’ll discuss a combination of the science behind technology addiction, the ways it can increase anxiety and stress in our mind, and the wisdom and hope the Bible has for us.

Facilitators: Jenni Weiss (Louisiana Tech University)
    Location: Houston B

  • Reading the Bible is something we’re told we should do, but why? Where do we start? And what if we struggle to read it regularly or understand what we’re reading?

In this session, we’ll explore why reading the Bible is essential for a real devotional life. We’ll share practical steps to start and grow your practice of connecting with God through Scripture.

Facilitators: Andrew Youngblood (Texas Christian University)
    Location: State Room 1

  • This workshop focuses on the “Why?” of the baptism in the Holy Spirit: Why does every follower of Jesus need to be filled with the Spirit? Why do each of us need to have the Spirit come “upon” us? Why are Spirit-baptized people often at the heart of the movements with the fastest growth of new believers in the world? and last, Why not be baptized in the Spirit as soon as possible?

    1st Hour: Teaching
2nd Hour: Teaching concluding with a time of prayer and ministry

Facilitator: Paul York (Texas / New Mexico Regional XAi Rep)
    Location: Austin 2

  • What are the hindrances or Roadblocks to receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit? Why do some people not immediately receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues? Come hear some common sense answers to these questions and many more about Spirit Baptism. Who knows, Jesus could empower you to be a witness during this breakout session. Open Q & A about Spirit Baptism and speaking in tongues.

    1st Hour: Teaching
2ndHhour: Time of prayer and ministry

Facilitator: Ronnie Hoover (University of Arkansas)
    Location: Austin 1

    Facilitators: Destiny & Phillip Deas
    Location: Lone Star C4

  • Jesus modeled a life of signs, wonders, and miracles for His disciples. Don’t settle for less than what He paid for with His life. There is so much more on the Lord’s table for you to move and operate in! This breakout is split into two parts/blocks.

1st hour: teaching on the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
2nd hour: Holy Spirit lab where we will pray/contend for the miraculous. (If you are in need of physical healing, please come!)

Facilitator: Clayton Helling (Univ of Arkansas at Fort Smith)
    Location: Austin 3

  • “Time heals all wounds.” That phrase looks good cross-stitched on your grandma’s throw pillow, but it’s utter nonsense and not even close to being biblical.

“Just get over it.” It takes zero fingers to count the number of times that has worked.

Well intentioned people are full of empty platitudes. The trouble with platitudes (and platypuses) is that they are interesting to think about but when push comes to shove they aren’t very useful. Thankfully, Jesus gave us a path to actually move from hurt to healing. Fair warning, the journey is not for the faint of heart. But for anyone willing to follow in the steps of Christ, wholeness is within reach, one step at a time.

Facilitators: Amy Hauck (University of Texas, San Antonio) & Jen Schiefer (University of Central Arkansas)
    Location: Houston C

  • It’s hard and it’s holy. It’s unattractive but beautiful. Life is not lived in the either/or, most often it’s lived in the both/and. Perhaps rather than trying to find our way out of a season that we do not necessarily desire, we instead shift our focus to getting all the good we can out of every moment of life.

Facilitator: Miranda Taylor (University of Louisiana Lafayette)
    Location: San Antonio B

  • Left or right. Us or them. Our world demands we pick a side. But what if Jesus stands somewhere else entirely? When culture says, “choose a side”, Jesus says, “follow me.” Let’s explore the Kingdom invitation that Jesus brings, calling us beyond the battle lines of culture to stand united with Him in a divided world.

Facilitators: Cody Griggs (Arkansas Chi Alpha)
    Location: State Room 2

  • Catch a glimpse into how the Kingdom of God is advancing in various parts of the world from missionaries on the ground there. What role can you play?

    Facilitator: Adam Quinn (Costa Rica)
    Location: Houston A

One-Day Only Workshops

  • Do you have questions about doing a Chi Alpha internship?

Facilitators: Eric Treuil (Louisiana Chi Alpha)
    Location: Live Oak

  • Our culture is increasingly confused—and often resistant—when it comes to defining true manhood. In this session, we’ll turn to Scripture, especially Paul’s charge in 1 Corinthians 16:13, to rediscover a clear and compelling vision of what it means to be a man. Looking to the ultimate model of manhood, Jesus of Nazareth, we’ll explore how following Him shapes us to lead and love with strength and humility.

Facilitator: Nick Hester (Texas Tech University)
    Location: Lone Star A4
